Pizza Braids

When I got in the car today after school my mom told me we were having a fun thing for dinner. Pizza Braids! I was worried because I don’t even know how to braid hair, so how could I braid pizza?!? Making them was awesome and fun – turns out all you have to do is fake braid.

First, I used a rolling pin to roll the pizza dough into the shape of a rectangle.

Then I spread sauce down the middle of the dough.

Then I sprinkled the cheese on top of the sauce.

After that I placed the pepperoni above the cheese…

But in my moms case you have to put pesto, sliced mozzarella, tomatoes, olives, and onions.

Then I cut 10 strips on both sides of the dough.

Next  I fake braided the strips from side to side.

Then I used a pastry brush to brush the olive oil on the outside to help the garlic stick and make the crust more golden brown.

Delicioso!!

Ingredients:

1 Can Pillsbury Pizza dough

1/2 Jar Pizza Sauce, doesn’t matter what brand – use your favorite!

1 1/2 Cups Grated Mozzarella

Enough Pepperoni to Cover all the Cheese

Those are just the toppings I wanted to use. My mom used the pesto sauce and other toppings. You can even try it at breakfast with scrambled eggs and other fillings.

The best thing about this recipe is you can use whatever toppings you love best! What are your favorite pizza toppings? What should I try next?
